Blue Dart revenue up at 181.66 Crores

Mumbai, Apr 17 (UNI) Blue Dart Express Limited, one of South Asia's leading integrated air express courier and package distributor, posted an increase of 19.53 per cent over the corresponding quarter of the previous year.

Income from operations for the 1st quarter of 2007 was Rs. 181.66 crores.

Managing Director, Blue Dart Express Limited, Anil Khanna said,''Strengthening our infrastructure, especially our aviation system, was critical to meeting increasing demand and ensuring excellence in service. Induction of two B757 freighters provided greater capability to serve our customers, and reinforce our commitment to facilitate India's trade and commerce.'' He infomed that in the last quarter of 2006-2007, the company handled approximately 17 million shipments weighing over 42,000 tonnes.

The company has planned to add 57 new facilities in the coming year, 11 of which have already been made operational in the last quarter of 2006-2007.
