Lucknow, Apr 17 (UNI) Putting a question mark on the pseudo-secularism followed by all the parties except BJP in ongoing Uttar Pradesh assembly polls, the BJP today said this was the time these outfits owed an explanation to the country how much harm this policy had done since independence.

''Parties like Congress and Samajwadi Party do talk about secularism but they will have to clarify if it has not given rise to terrorism, anti-national activities and separatism in this country,'' BJP vice president Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi told mediapersons here.

Blasting them, the BJP leader said it was shameful that these political powers had made UP polls a 'market' using minorities votes as commodities. ''It is now upto the people specially the minority community to teach them a lesson as how long they would be used by these brokers of the power,'' he pointed out.

Mr Naqvi said the SP , BSP and Congress all had single agenda to spit venom against the BJP and that too by advocating what could only be termed as 'pseudo-secularism'. ''The political posturing of these parties is a proof in itself that the BJP sits pretty to form government in Uttar Pradesh,'' he said.

The senior BJP leader said it was beyond doubt that the BJP would form a majority government in UP and this had upset the plans of SP and BSP to a great extent.

When asked about the issue of foreign origin of Sonia Gandhi coming to the fore again, the BJP vice president said that it would remain an issue for ever. Going a step further, he said even a person with foreign origin aspiring to become prime minister and her party supporting it is another form of 'distorted secularism'.
