Another Army jawan commits suicide

Jammu, Apr 17 (UNI) A Rashtriya Rifles (RR) Jawan committed suicide last night by shooting himself with his service weapon in the bordering Rajouri District of Jammu and Kashmir, a Defence spokesperson today said.

''Sepoy R K Singh, a jawan of the 20 RR (DOGRA) posted in Rajouri District shot himself last night at about 2300 hrs,'' Defence spokesperson Lt Col S D Goswami told UNI.

The reason behind the sepoy taking the extreme step was yet not known, he said, adding that an inquiry into the case had been ordered.

Several security personnel fighting militants in the tough terrains of the state have either committed suicide or killed their colleagues reportedly due to work related stress or family problems.

On Saturday night a havaldar of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) killed his Deputy commandant near the Jammu airport.
