Aizawl Master Plan takes first step

Aizawl, Apr 17 (UNI) In a bid to improve the future structure of the city, Chief Minister Zoramthanga kicked-off the Aizawl Master Plan 2030 here today.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Zoramthanga emphasised on having a strict building regulations and said ''the biggest problem of the city is its roads''.

The Aizawl Master Plan, according to Technical adviser to Chief Minister Ramhluna Khiangte, ''aims at better and greater Aizawl, in terms of infrastructure and economy''.

The plan will be undertaken by the Aizawl Development Authority (ADA).

The state also plans to construct parking complexes and fly-over bridges.

The Chief Minister informed that negotiations are on with HUDCO regarding loan interests. He further added that plans are in the pipeline for the construction of a fly-over bridge between Kulikawn to Bawngkawn.

Zoramthanga further added that more than Rs 4 crore has been allotted for plastic coating of overhead electric cables in the city.
