8 candidates booked

Basti, Apr 17 (UNI) A case has been registered in Basti Sadar assembly segment against eight candidates for not providing details of expenses incurred in the ongoing Uttar Pradesh assembly poll.

The case was registered under section 171 of IPC after the candidates failed to give details of expenses as per the instructions of the Election Commission (EC), district election officer Saurabh Babu said.

Those booked are Jitendra Singh of RLD, Fazal Rehman and Kazi of Samta Party and Rajendra from Bahujan Kisan Dal.

Besides, four Independent candidates including Arjun Prasad, Atul Kumar, Daya Shankar Paltu and Ram Dharan have been booked.
