16 Alpha students to undergo school twinning prog in S'pore
Chennai, Apr 17 (UNI) Sixteen students from the city-based Alpha Matriculation Higher Secondary School would fly to Singapore to undertake the second phase of School Twinning Programme at Bowen School, under a programme sponsored by the Ministry of Education, Singapore.
The student's team, accompanied by two Vice-Principals and two staff from Mathematics and Microbiology departments, would visit Bowen school and other schools in Singapore from April 17 to 26, a release from the school here said.
The three-year twinning programme commenced with a visit of 21 students from Bowen school here, early this year. As part of second phase of School Twinning Programme, 16 students from Alpha school have got on board to Singapore.
This programme would initiate professional interaction and sharing of innovation in Mathematics and Science teaching, the release said adding the students of Alpha and Bowen will visit cluster schools at Singapore.
The students of Alpha and Bowen would jointly involve in the 'Mathematical project related to Fengshui' and 'Microbiology project on Dendrobium orchid.' The students will participate in Mathematics Activity Day and also discuss on Cultural issues, the release added.
Students from both countries will perform a joint skit performance on Singapore culture and other cultural events. Further, as part of a Cultural programme, students would be taken on visits to National monuments, multi-racial and religious places in Singapore.
''The programme will be a novel learning experience for the students. It provides them an opportunity to interact with students at Bowen school, observe and gain knowledge of their learning resources and methods followed by them,'' Ms Grace George, Founder and Chairperson, Alpha Group of Institutions, said.
