Two, including child die in Bawana blaze 500 huts gutted

New Delhi, Apr 16 (UNI) Two people, including a 5-year-old boy, were killed in a major fire in Bawana area of North-West Delhi this morning in which more than 500 hutments were destroyed.

While the man is yet to identified, the child is Saidul living in one of the Bawana jhuggi-jhopri clusters where the blaze devoured over 500 huts, according to sources.

The child was mentally challenged, they added.

Nearly 25 fire tenders battled for nearly three hours to bring the fire under control which struck at about 1125 hrs, said the fire brigade.
