Two die due to chickenpox

Chhatarpur, MP, Apr 16 (UNI) Two children have died due to chicken pox, while several others have taken ill at Badkhera village in this district, official sources said today.

''A health worker, Indira Khare, has been suspended, while a show cause notice has been issued to Bada Malehra health officer L D Rajput,'' Chief Medical and Health Officer (CMHO) O P Gautam said today.

Dr Gautam said information about the deaths of Rama (5) and Vijay (4) reached late on April 14. He admitted that the children died due to chicken pox.

Besides, three children were admitted to the district hospital, while 80 others were reportedly affected by the disease.

A medical team has been dispatched to the village. Besides providing treatment to the affected, the team was examining the health of people in 10 nearby villages.
