TV Journalists Association condemns attack on Star News

Mumbai, Apr 16 (UNI) TV Journalists Association condemned the attack on the office of Star News by anti-social elements here today, in which several employees of the channel were injured.

In a statement issued here, Deepak Bhatuse, general secretary of the Association, described the attack as ''an attack on the freedom of the electronic media and journalism''.

He expressed concern that such incidents were on the rise in recent times.

Demanding immediate action against the culprits, he said the committee to probe attacks on Journalists be reconstituted. The committee was functional under the chairmanship of additional chief secretary (home) till 1997.
