Thokia gang members held for threatening voters

Banda, Apr 16 (UNI) Six members of the notorious Thokia group were today arrested for threatening voters of the Naraini assembly segment here.

The history-sheeters were threatening people to vote in favour of Thokia's mother Piyaria Devi, who is contesting the ongoing UP assembly poll on a Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) ticket.

An amount of Rs 62,000, a jeep and five cell phones were also recovered, police said.

So far, 18 aides of Thokiya have been nabbed. Yesterday, five members of the gang were held near Bhami village for threatening voters.

A notice has been sent to the Election Commission for probe against the candidate, police said.
