Sonia and Mulayam equally responsible for ruining UP : BJP

Lucknow, Apr 16 (UNI) Lambasting Congress president Sonia Gandhi for holding the Samajwadi Party (SP) responsible for ruining Uttar Pradesh, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today said the Congress was equally to be blamed for it.

''Sonia is as responsible for Uttar Pradesh's plight as is SP President Mulayam Singh Yadav,''BJP national vice president Bal Apte told reporters here.

The Congress always helped the SP while the latter plundered the biggest state of the country, and putting the onus on the SP alone was just an escape mechanism of the Congress president, he asserted.

Mr Apte said besides the Congress, all other parties including the BSP were unable to raise people's issues and were instead wasting time and energy on useless rhetoric. ''The BJP is the best bet for the people of Uttar Pradesh for getting rid of opportunist and corrupt politics of the BSP and SP,'' he claimed.

He said anarchy, separatism, casteism and terrorism had become the order of day in the state where the SIMI and ISI elements were given protection by non-BJP regimes. ''To free Uttar Pradesh from these ills, people should give one more chance to the BJP,'' the senior BJP leader said.
