Dubai: Residence permits can be renewed for 3 months

Dubai, Apr 16: A Kuwaiti immigration decision, which comes as a welcome relief to a large number of Indian expatriates and others, by the government has allowed renewal of residence permits three months ahead of their expiry dates.

The decision will apply to most residence permits, including those for dependents and housemaids.

This would end the unnecessary crowding of applicants after they return from the summer vacation, Kuwait Times quoted a top immigration authority official saying.

However, this decision will not apply to expatriates who work in the private sector under certain categories.
