Powercuts in MP

Jabalpur, Apr 16 (UNI) Power outages have been introduced in Madhya Pradesh's divisional and district headquarters due to generation being affected by technical faults in power plants.

Eastern Region Power Distribution Company sources said that two units of the Sarni Thermal Power Plant were being repaired speedily and one of them was expected to be operational by late tonight.

Likewise, a unit each at the National Thermal Power Corporation's Korba and Vindhyachal stations was shut for annual maintenance leading to a decline in supply from the Central Sector.

According to the cuts schedule, implemented yesterday, Jabalpur divisional headquarters is witnessing outages from 0700-0800 hrs, Indore 0800-0900, Gwalior 0900-1000, Ujjain 1000-1100, Sagar, Rewa, Morena and Hoshangabad 1100-1200. District headquarters would witness outages in two phases -- one-to-one-and-a-half to two hours between 0600-1200 and a similar duration between 1200-1800 hrs.

Supply to tahsil and rural areas would remain unaffected.
