PCJ condemns attack on STAR News office

Jamshedpur, Apr 16 (UNI) Press Club of Jamshedpur (PCJ) today condemned the attack on the STAR News office in Mumbai by the hooligans of Hindu Rashtra Sena.

In a statement PCJ president Brajesh Kumar Singh termed the act as cowardice and said it was a direct attack on the freedom of the press. He demanded an action against the culprits, who chose the path of violence to protest.

Singh also demnaded a high level inquiry into the incident, in which the activists of the outfit attacked the staff of the news channel and ransacked parts of the studio.

He said the unfourtunate incident would have been avoided had the police taken a prompt action against the hooligans.
