NGO condemns attack on Star News

Mumbai, Apr 16 (UNI) A city-based voluntary organisation has condemned the attack on Star News office here today.

Movement for Peace and Justice (MPJ) Maharashtra president, Dr Rahmatullah, in a release, said ''this is an attack on the freedom of media. It is an effort to vitiate the atmosphere of the state and Mumbai.'' ''Fascist elements cannot be allowed to disturb the social fabric and throtle the media. It is high time, the people in general and civil society organisations, in particular, remain vigilant and active so that such incidents did not reoccur. We also urge the administration to take note of the incident and take appropriate action immediately,'' he added.
