KVK developes new paddy 'Annalakshmi'
Puducherry, Apr 16 (UNI) The Krishi Vigayan Kendra(KVK) here has developed a new variety of paddy called 'Annalakshmi' which is a combination of IR-30 and O-43, Minister for Agriculture V Vaithilingam told the legislative assembly today.
Replying to the three-day discussion on demand for grants for several departments including agriculture, he said the new paddy variety willbe being released today.
Mr Vaithilingam said the Pandit Jawharlal Nehru Agricultural College, Karaikal had developed a new variety of paddy named after the former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister K Kamaraj, which will also be released shortly.
