JK: KPs demand renovation of Hindu shrines

Jammu, Apr 16: Kashmiri Pandit Migrant Action committee has accused Jammu and Kashmir government of not having a clear- cut policy with regard to rehabilitation of Kashmiri pandits who have been the worst victims of the 18- year -long turmoil.

Addressing a press conference, Migrant Action committee, president Chaman Lal Kachru said pandits have been ignored by respective dispensations of the state.

''Kashmiri pandits are getting step- motherly treatment at the hands of both the center and state government's. Only few Kashmiri pandit youth's have been employed in government services and rest of them are still searching for job in other parts of the country,'' he said.

Mr Kachru further said government must awake and announce a financial package for the community which suffered a huge damage during the last 18 years of the turmoil.

Coming down heavily on the coalition government, Mr Kachru said the state government has been claiming early return of the Migrants but nothing was done on ground.

He demanded the renovation of all Hindu shrines and temples in the valley which had been destroyed during 18 years of militancy.
