New Delhi, Apr 16 (UNI) The Janata Dal (United) today strongly criticised Rahul Gandhi for his remark on division of Pakistan, ] fearing it could derail the peace process with the neighbouring country and demanded that he, alongwith the Congress party and the UPA government, immediately apologise for all his remarks.

JD(U) General Secretary and Spokesman Shambhu Shrivastava said here that the statement of Rahul Gandhi that Nehru-Gandhi family won freedom and divided Pakistan shows that ''he is an immature politician who has no comprehension of the consequences of what he is talking.'' ''That, his statement has got official endorsement from the Congress party and the Prime Minister's declaration that he is the future of India, clearly demonstrates that the Congress party leaders, including the Prime Minister, are spineless and despicably servile,'' he charged and wondered whether the UPA government or the Congress party accepted that Nehru family divided Pakistan.

''Why are they not categorically denying that what Rahul Gandhi has said is not true? Do not they realise that their acceptance of his statement will derail the peace process with Pakistan and legitimise the unfounded charge of Pakistan that India interferes in internal affairs of Pakistan and has tried to destabilise it, when the fact is otherway round,'' the JD(U) leader said.

Sooner the Congress realises that Rahul was an embarassment for it, the UPA government and the nation, better it was for them, he said. Pointing out that Rahul had earlier made controversial statements regarding the Babri Masjid, Mr Shrivastava said that he also insulted Mahatma Gandhi, Sardar Patel and other leaders of the freedom struggle.

The JD(U) demands that Rahul Gandhi, Congress and the UPA government should immediately apologise to the nation for all his remarks, Mr Srivastava reiterated.
