Husband, friend, arrested for attempted rape

New Delhi, Apr 16 (UNI) Police have arrested two people, including the husband of a 22-year-old woman from Malviya Nagar area of South Delhi, on charges of 'attempt to rape'.

According to a senior police official, Kamal (23) and his friend Saurabh (25) were arrested yesterday afternoon after Swati (22) got herself medically examined at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences which intimated the police.

The complaint, suggested that Kamal and Saurabh picked Swati from her office in Gurgaon at about 2130 hrs in a car on April 14 and on their way back home 'misbehaved' and 'tried to rape' her.

After she narrated the incident to her in-laws on returning home in the Malviya Nagar area, she was allegedly threatened by her brother-in-law Deepak against revelation of the incident to anyone.

Both Kamal and Swati work at different call centres in Gurgaon and were married about an year and a half.
