HM ultras kill a civilian, later one eliminated in encounter

Doda, Apr 16 (UNI) Security forces today gunned down a dreaded militant of Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) in an encounter and rescued a civilian from their possession.

Official sources said a group of three militants kidnapped two civilians namely Nohammad Ayub ,42, and Munawwar Deen from Hura Chilli village last night.

The militants have killed Ayub and his body was recovered this morning from high reaches of mountain. The troops of 26 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) started rescue operation in the mountainous area of Jodi Balesha, sources said.

During search operation an encounter took place and security forces eliminated one militant and rescued Munawwar from their possession. The operation was still on and a massive hunt launched to nab two other militants.

The slain militant was identified as Mohammad d Saif, a dreaded militant of Hizbul Mujahideen. One SLR, two magazines, four rounds, two grenades and 10 detonators were recovered.
