Heat wave sweeps across capital
New Delhi, Apr 16 (UNI) Heat waves continue to scorch the capital with the maximum temperature reaching 39.6 degrees, four degrees above normal.
The minimum temperature also reached 24.9 degree Celsius, again four points above normal.
The Met department has predicted little respite in the next 24 hours. Clear sky with possibility of duststorm/ thunderstorm is likely in some areas while the maximum temperature would be around 40 degrees celcius, it said.
The days to come are likely to be hotter with the weathermen forecasting the prevailing heat wave conditions over Northwest Indian plains to continue during the next 48 hours.
Delhi and other parts of Northwest India have been reeling under a severe heat wave for the past four days with mercury hovering at three to four degrees above normal.
The unbearable heat has forced Delhiites to remain indoors in the comfort of their homes and offices.
