Govt bans deep sea fishing in EEZ

New Delhi, Apr 16 (UNI) The Central government has banned the deep sea fishing by all fishing vessels in the Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) of India from April 15 to May 31, 2007 along the eastern coast and from June 15 to July 31 along the western coast.

According to an official release issued here today, all maritime States and Union Teritories and others concerned have been directed the implement the decision.
