Gere burnt in effigy in MP

Indore, Apr 16 (UNI) Hollywood actor Richard Gere was burnt in effigy by some youths near the local collectorate this morning in protest against his kissing actress Shilpa Shetty during an AIDS awareness programme at New Delhi.

Gere, Bollywood actors Sunny Deol and Shilpa yesterday joined hands to put across a message of HIV prevention to thousands of truckers.

The function was part of the ongoing 'Seena Taan Ke' campaign by the TCI Foundation (India's largest surface transport organisation) to reduce unsafe sexual practices among the trucking community.
