Excellence Aviation Academy to open centres in Mumbai

Mumbai, Apr 16 (UNI) Newly-formed Excellence Aviation Academy in partnership with Livewel Aviation Group, a leading player in the field of aviation ground service, has announced the opening of 12 aviation training centres, six each in Mumbai and Delhi respectively.

Announcing the development here today, Excellence Aviation Academy Chairman Pervez Damania said Indian Aviation is the fastest growing sector in the world. Even big players like Airbus and Boeing have set their eyes here with major investments.

He said there is a huge shortage of more than 40,000 non-technical people across airports and airlines today. ''This is where Excellence along with Livewell would like to play a major role'', Damania added.

Mr Damania said the Academy has plans to target Tier-II and Tier-III cities in the country as parking bay for aircraft which are the main source of obstacle for major private players.

He said Rs 10 crore has been marked for the venture, while five crore rupees has been invested in the first phase of 12 centres in Mumbai and Delhi and by next year another 12 centres would be added. The South, has however, been kept out for the time being.

Damania said the construction work on centres in Andheri and Bandra is almost complete, while another centre in South Mumbai is under-construction, On the occassion, Livewel Aviation CEO Burzin Daver said that with the open sky policy and the large number of private players, proper avaition training for ground and support staff has become imperative.

He said the deal signed with Excellence Academy will tap potential and prospective candidates into the booming aviation industry.

Excellence Aviation Academy CEO Prasan Yedekar said that the academy has announced scholarships for 200 candidates, who will be chosen through the Excellence website lot and will be trained free of cost.
