Ex-minister stages dharna at collectorate

Raigarh, Chhattisgarh, Apr 16 (UNI) Former Chhattisgarh Home Minister Nandkumar Patel and Congress workers are staging a sit-in within the collectorate here, protesting against implication of partymen in false cases.

''Four Congress workers, including a deputy sarpanch, had sought account-linked information from the sarpanch during the recently-concluded gram swaraj campaign,'' Mr Patel told UNI.

He alleged that local BJP leaders subsequently lodged false complaints against those who sought to raise complaints against the sarpanch during the state government's much-publicised village contact programme.

Mr Patel said the workers resorted to the dharna in the chamber of District Collector S K Raju as he did not respond properly when they reached to submit a memorandum demanding release of Congress workers.
