Dasmunsi condemns attack on Star TV, wants firm action

New Delhi, Apr 16 (UNI) Condemning the attack on Star TV in Mumbai Minister for Information and Broadcasting Priya Ranjan Das Munsi today asked the state government to take firm action against the culprits.

''I have learnt the attack on Star TV by members of a Hindu fundamentalist group. This is an assault on democracy and the fundamental rights of the media, which I strongly condemn,'' the Minister said in a statement here.

The office of Star News in Mumbai was today ransacked and its staff manhandled by a mob, protesting telecast of a news story relating to elopement of a young couple of different religions from Surat on Saturday.
