Commission for Right to Information pulls up DC
Madikeri (Karnataka), Apr 16: The Karnataka State Commission for Right to Information has summoned the district Deputy Commissioner and 17 other officials of the district to face an inquiry on April 21 as it had failed to furnish certain information within the stipulated 125 days.
On a complaint lodged by the Association of Social Transparency, Right to Act organisation from Bangalore, the Commission issued notices to the officials, including the Assistant Commissioner, Executive Officers of Zilla Panchayat, Tahsildars and Presidents of a few gram panchayats.
The organisation, studying about corruption in the district under a project 'Kranti', had demanded over 100 records. Though they had received information for 18 subjects, the remaining 88 records were not provided.
