BJP, BJYM stage dharna against SSCP

Tirupati, Apr 16 (UNI) The activists of BJP and BJYM held a dharna at Municipal office circle here to protest against the proposed Sethusamudram Shipping Canal Project (SSCP).

As many as 50 activists led by BJYM state President Bhanu Prakash Reddy, BJP district Secretary M R Raja and temple town President S Srinivas gathered at the Municipal office circle and raised slogans against the project to be made by demolishing the present 'Rama Sethu'.

Later, talking to newspersons, the leaders said it was a heritage structure and the Hindu sentiments would be hurt if it was demolised.
