Phagwara, Apr 16: Former Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Rajinder Kaur Bhattal today appealed to former Chief Minister Amarinder Singh to return to Punjab for moral boosting of the congressmen who were being ''harassed'' allegedly due to the vindictive policies of the SAD-BJP Government.

Talking to newsmen at nearby Puadhrra village, Mrs Bhattal said the Congress was united under the able leadership of Party President Sonia Gandhi.

Asserting that the Badal Government was completely dependent on the BJP and may not continue in office for more than two years, she alleged that Mr Badal had befooled the people by his promise to provide Atta at Rs 4 per kg and pulses at Rs 20 per kg.

''Even after 45 days rule, the present Government is yet to fulfil its promise of providing wheat and pulses at cheaper rates,'' she added.
