8 killed as train hits van in TN

Kancheepuram, Apr 16: At least eight people were killed and 20 injured when the van in which they were travelling was hit by a passenger train at an unmanned level crossing between Kancheepuram and Tirumalpur Railway Stations this morning.

Police sources told UNI quoting initial reports, that the mishap occurred when the Chengalpattu-Arakkonam Passenger Train hit the van carrying 35 passengers and added the toll was likely to go up.
