7 killed as van hits lorry in AP

Tirupati, Apr 16: Seven pilgrims were killed and one was seriously injured when the van in which they were travelling collided head-on with a lorry near Satharupalli Village in Tirupati-Chittoor, about six km from here, today.

Police here said the passengers of the van were returning after darshan at Sabarimala Iyyappan Temple when it hit the Chittoor-bound lorry.

The victims belonged to Pongarapalli Village in Ibrimpatnam of Rangareddy District. The injured has been admitted to the Government Ruia Hospital.
