7 dead in road accident

Allahabad, Apr 16 (UNI) At least seven people, including six of a family, died and six others were seriously injured after a speeding SUV collided with a truck in the neighbouring Kaushambi district.

The mishap took place near Imamganj last night, when an SUV, carrying 12 members of Niranjan Gupta's family, was hit by a truck.

The deceased were identified as Sheetla (33), Dattul (40), Ashish (20), Ranjit (7), Shubham (7) Sajan (8) and driver Suresh (35).

The injured have been admitted to hospital.

However, the truck driver managed to escape.
