12 held for programme during canvassing

Siddharthnagar, Apr 16 (UNI) Twelve persons were today arrested for an alleged obscene musical programme during campaigning in favour of an independent candidate from Naugaud assembly seat here.

Those arrested included a dancer, Kavita Chaudhary.

The accused were campaigning for the candidate at Chauhas Chauraha, police said.

Kavita is a resident of Gorakhpur district, while others persons hail from Maharajganj and Siddhathnagar districts.

A vehicle was also seized from their possession on account of invalid permit.
