Two cubs found with fractured legs in Gir forest

Junagadh, Gujarat Apr 14 (UNI) Two lion cubs, aged six and eight months, were found today with fractured legs near Devalia and Malia villages in the Gir forest.

''The cubs were shifted to Sakkarbag Zoo, where they were treated by veterinary surgeon Mr Bhuwa. The X-Ray reports of the cubs were sent to Anand,'' Zoo superintendent R D Katara told UNI.

''The cubs are suspected to have received injuries either by falling into a pit or in an accident,'' said Mr Katara.

Meanwhile, in another suspected case of poaching, remains of a dead lion were supposedly found near Bhandaria village near Palitana. However no official confirmation has come so far.
