Agartala, Apr 14 (UNI) The Tripura government has expressed its concern over the sanctioning of funds for the Sarbasikha Abhiyan in the state this year.

The Union Government has sanctioned Rs 63 crore for 2007-08 for Sarbasikha Abhiyan in the state while it was Rs 90 crore last year.

During last fiscal, the state government had proposed Rs 110 crore but the Centre had sanctioned Rs 90 crore in 2006-07.

This time, the state government has sent a proposal for Rs 131 crore but the Centre has sanctioned only Rs 63 crore. Of this, Rs 29 crore had already been given to the state and the remaining Rs 34 crore would be sent once the state government agreed with the Centre's decision.

The state government would demand for the full amount as proposed in the current fiscal.

All the NE states, including Tripura, have demanded for sanctioning of fund at par with the 90:10 basis. The Centre's decision to cut down the fund might affect Sarbasikha Abhiyan in the entire NE region, an official said.
