Tony Blair greets Sikhs on Baisakhi

New Delhi, Apr 14 (UNI) British Prime Minister Tony Blair has paid tribute to the ''inspiring'' principles of the Sikh faith as the community celebrates the festival of Baisakhi.

In a message released here by the British High Commission, Mr Blair said this was a time for Sikhs in Britain and the world to come together to celebrate their faith, history and tradition.

''The principles of the Sikh faith are inspiring-equality, an obligation to help those who are less fortunate than themselves, tolerance and respect for other individuals, communities and faiths,'' he said.

He lauded the ''valuable role'' that the Sikh community plays in Britain and their contribution to British economy, society and national life.
