Basti, Apr 14: Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Venkaiah Naidu today said the opposition is unncessarily training guns at BJP on the CD issue even as there is ''nothing objectionable'' in it. ''BJP's prime motive has always been to develop India into a strong Nation and not to spread bitterness in society,'' Mr Naidu asserted while talking to mediapersons here.

Mr Naidu alleged ''the opposition is unitedly demanding derecognition of BJP for distributing the communally inflamatory CD, for which an FIR lodged against party president Rajnath Singh and senior leader Lalji Tondon. It seems opposition is jealous of the mushrooming popularity of the party.''

Inveighing the Samajwadi Party (SP)-led Uttar Pradesh government, the former BJP president alleged ''It is painful that Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav is providing shelter to the criminals. People are insecure and need a change. At present, BJP only has the capability of developing UP.'' He claimed "the trend which one gets from the Phase I and Phase II polling are haunting for SP. It shows that people have rejected Mr Yadav." He further claimed ''there is a strong BJP undercurrent in UP, therefore, I am seeing results of the ongoing state Assembly polls through rose coloured spectacles.''
