Suicide bomber kills 6 in Eastern Afghanistan
Kabul, Apr 14: A suicide bomber blew himself up among a group of Afghan forces in the country's east today, killing at least six people, police and witnesses said.
Five of those killed when the man walked into the group near the town of Khost were border police and the sixth a civilian. Several people were wounded. There were no further details.
The Taliban have vowed to step up suicide bombings as fighting intensifies after the traditional winter lull.
Last year was the bloodiest since the Taliban were ousted in 2001 and many expect this year to be worse.
Several hundred civilians, scores of Taliban, dozens of Afghan forces, some aid workers and more than 30 Western troops have died so far this year.
