Pune set to emerge as major Infosys destination

Pune
is
all
set
to
emerge
as
a
major
destination
for
Software
major
Infosys
Technologies,
over
taking
Bangalore
with
a
massive
capacity
augmentation
currently
on.
Infosys
which
across
the
country
is
currently
building
up
nearly
10.2
million
sq
ft
of
built
up
area
to
enhance
its
seating
capacity
by
32,967
as
against
its
existing
facilities
of
11.96
sq
ft
to
housing
58,488
seats.
The
Pune
facility
of
Infosys
currently
had
a
seating
capacity
of
9181
with
the
total
available
built
up
area
of
1.35
million
sq
ft
which
was
less
compared
to
3.45
million
sq
ft
of
space
available
in
Bangalore
with
the
total
number
of
seats
being
20,715.
Among
the
cities
where
work
was
in
progress,
Pune
has
the
lion's
share
with
2.76
million
sq
ft
of
area
under
development
to
provide
an
additional
14,400
seats
as
against
3.10
lakh
sq
ft
of
development
in
Bangalore
covering
1200
seats.
When
completed
Pune's
facility
would
be
in
a
position
to
house
23,561
seats
as
against
21,915
sq
ft
in
Bangalore.
Infosys
which
is
also
taking
up
construction
in
a
big
way
in
its
Chennai
campus
to
house
75000
seats
in
a
new
area
of
1.45
million
sq
ft.
Currently
Chennai
is
a
little
less
than
one
million
sq
ft
of
built
up
area
housing
6466
seats.
When
completed
Chennai
would
be
the
third
major
destination
for
Infosys
with
13,966
seats.
The
IT
major
has
also
taken
up
big
time
construction
in
its
Mysore
Campus
which
has
emerged
a
major
global
training
destination
for
the
Company
as
against
three
million
sq
ft
of
current
availability
Infosys
has
taken
up
construction
for
4.41
million
sq
ft
and
by
December
end
the
training
facility
in
Mysore
could
accommodate
nearly
13,500
people.
Other
cities
where
Infosys
has
major
presence
and
was
increasing
its
capacity
were
Bhubaneswar,
Mangalore,
Chandigarh
and
Thiruvananthapuram.
