Prohibitory order clamped in K Shettihalli after group clash

Mysore, Apr 14 (UNI) Prohibitory orders under section 144 have been imposed in the K Shettihalli village in Mandya District where seven people were injured in a group clash between two communities yesterday.

Police said today that though the situation was under control, the ban order was imposed as a precautionary measure.

One person has been arrested and cases have been registered against 12 people.

Additional police force has been deployed in the village.

Meanwhile, the villagers gheraoed the district incharge Minister Chaluvaraya Swamy, when he came to Mandya to participate in a function and demanded their problems be solved. They argued with the Minister about him not visiting the village despite the clash between two groups. After the Minister's assurance, the villagers allowed him to attend the function.
