Police detain couple from Surat

Mumbai, Apr 14 (UNI) An unmarried couple from Surat in Gujarat was detained by police following a tip off from the Gujarat police that one Abdul Qadir Mohammed Aslam Nalbindi had kidnapped a 16-year-old girl.

The two were detained last night while they were found moving in South Central Mumbai, police said today.

According to Police, the girl had allegedly fallen in love with the 22-year-old youth, and the two left Surat to escape wrath of their families.

Later, Nalbindi was handed over to Surat police, after the city court's permission, while the girl was sent to a juvenile home in Mumbai, police said.
