One killed, about a dozen houses, shops gutted in Kashmir
Srinagar, Apr 14 (UNI) One person was killed in a road accident while about a dozen houses and shops were gutted in two different fire incidents in the Kashmir valley today.
Official sources said one pedestrain Ghulam Mohammad Bhat was injured critically when a speedy vehicle hit him at Palpora crossing on the national highway today.
Bhat, a resident of Nowgam, Banihal, died on the way to hospital.
Sources said a fire broke out in the shop of one Assadullah at Goyaldoora, Tangmarg, in Baramulla district early this morning.
The flames engulfed eight other shops before the fire could be brought under control. However, no one was injured.
A cow was roasted alive when a fire broke out in the cowshed of Ghulam Mohammad Rather at Kralpora on the city outskirts.
Two houses were damaged completely and another partially when a fire broke out at Tangan, Lasjan, today. The cause of the fire was not immediately known, they said.
