Narayana Murthy showed disrespect towards National Anthem: Ambareesh
Bangalore, Apr 14 (UNI) Union Minister M H Ambareesh today said that Infosys Chief N R Narayana Murthy has shown disrespect by not singing the National Anthem during President A P J Abdul Kalam visit to Infosys facilities in Mysore on April Eight.
While talking to the Media here, he said that ''no matter how a big a person may be, one should respect National Anthem, Mr Murthy's act is nothing but showing disrespect.'' Replying to a question, the actor turned politician ruled out the possibility of withdrawing his resignation from the Minister post. ''I resigned to fight against injustice done to the State on Cauvery issue and if I am in the post I cannot raise objection against the Government and hence there is no question of withdrawing my resignation despite pressure from colleagues in the party'' he said.
Mr Ambareesh said that agitation was to protest that the verdict was not acceptable as it is against the interests of the State. ''Cauvery Water Dispute Tribunal (CWDT) final verdict is totally wrong. There is no logic in ordering release of water in June, July and August months irrespective of its availability.
If the final verdict was implemented, Bangalore, which has attracted global attention will go without drinking water '', he added.
He said that possibility of filing a Public Interest Litigation in the Supreme Court was also being explored in consultation with leading Advocates and it may be filed shortly.
Mr Ambareesh, earlier launched Mahindra Renault's 'Logan' and opened Suresh Auto's second exclusive showroom to retail new vehicle.
