Make use of welfare schemes: Minister

Denkada, Andhra Pradesh, Apr 14 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Marketing Minister Botsa Satyanarayana has asked people to make best use of developmental and welfare schemes of the UPA Government at the Centre which was striving to provide urban facilities in rural areas.

Speaking at the Bharat Nirman campaign here yesterday, Mr Satyanarayana said the Centre was taking steps to provide infrastructure facilities like housing, drinking water, education and health in rural areas.

Additional classrooms, appointment of teachers and better sanitation facilities were among some of the measures taken for the welfare of the students under the Sarva Siksha Abhiyan (SSA) scheme.

In tune with the ideals of Dr B R Ambedkar, four integrated hostels were being set up in rural areas while six more were proposed to be constructed, he added.
