Languages need to work in harmony for educational success: Hooda

New Delhi, Apr 14 (UNI) Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today called for harmony between English and regional languages to ensure the success of the country's education policy in the era of globalisation.

Delivering the Third Memorial Dr Sarup Singh lecture here, he said the solution was in a ''versatile interaction and their close cooperation rather than the neglect of one over the other. A purposeful educational system alone could help the individual in the cultivation of new set of values, skills and attitudes." Lauding the achievements of Dr Singh, he said though a son of a farmer, by dint of hard work he became a professor, vice chancellor of University of Delhi and latter member of UPSC and Rajya Sabha.

Mr Hooda also identified that Dr Singh wanted the quality education for rural boys and girls on the basis of equality.

He said in Haryana, educational reforms are underway to enable students compete globally and they also being imparted job oriented education.

Mr Hooda also stressed on the need of participation of women in developmental work to raise the economy of the country. In order to attain this dream a Women University had been setup in rural area in Sonipat district, he added.
