Killers of IRCON engineers gunned down in Kashmir
Srinagar, Apr 14 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir police today claimed that two Lashker-e-Toiba (LeT) militants allegedly responsible for the killing of IRCON engineers and about a dozen police, CRPF and Army personnel, were gunned down in south Kashmir today.
He said LeT militants, including a District Commander Pinto Malik and Shiraz Mir killed by 62 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) and Special Operation Group (SOG) of state police in a joint operation at Wayil, Shopian, were wanted in a number of militancy-related incidents.
Pinto who had escaped from Pulwama court complex in September 2006, beheaded two IRCON engineers at Awaitpora in 2004.
In August 2005, he beheaded a Sumo driver, attacked 55 RR patrol in which one civilian and one army jawan were killed, while two civilians and one army jawan were injured.
Pinto Malik was also involved in killing of four policemen and injuring three others in Rakh Latter on February 5, this year.
Shiraz Ahmad Mir was involved in the Rakh Litter incident in which four policemen were killed and the attack on 55 RR.
He had also planned the killing of two CRPF personnel at Sangam.
