Jammu, Apr 14 (UNI) The Government offices of Jammu and Kashmir currently functioning in Jammu will close down on April 27 and reopen on May 7 in summer capital Srinagar, official sources said here.
A high-level meeting presided over by Principal Secretary Khurshid Ahmad Ganai was held wherein various arrangements for the convenience of the employees with annual Darbar Move were finalised.
The State Road Transport Corporation (SRTC) will provide buses on April 28 and April 29 for Kashmir-based employees and on May 5 and May 6 for Jammu-based employees, the sources said, adding necessary medical facilities, including an ambulance, will also be available en route.
For shifting the official records of various departments, the SRTC will also provide trucks and a crane.
The transport department will open a special counter for tickets at civil secretariat on April 16, facilitating the booking for Darbar Move employees.
IGP Traffic has been directed to coordinate with the Army and Beacon for smooth movement of Darbar Move convoy and also check any overcharging by private operators, the sources added.
