Former 'bandit queen' fighting UP parliamentary bypoll

Mirzapur, Apr 14 (UNI) After original 'Bandit Queen' Phoolan Devi, it is now the turn of another 'queen of jungles' Seema Parihar to enter the world of politics.

Ditching the guns, Seema too has decided to follow Phoolan's route through the ballot.

Seema, who is fighting byelection from Mirzapur parliamentary constituency on an Indian Justice Party (IJP) ticket, is said to be gaining sympathy of people wherever she goes to campaign.

Byelection to the Mirzapur parliamentary seat will go hand in hand with Phase VI polling on May 3. The seat fell vacant, after BSP MP Narendra Kushwaha was caught on camera in a sting operation.

However, Seema does not appear to be as successful as Phoolan, who won two times from the Mirzapur-Bhadohi parliamentary seat.

Seema had first decided to enter Bollywood. Wounded is a film made on the life of Chambal dacoits and Seema played the lead role in it.
