Ensure victory of Hindutva: Venkaiah

Gorakhpur, Apr 14 (UNI) Former BJP president Venkaiah Naidu today called upon the party cadre to unite in wake of the ongoing Uttar Pradesh assembly poll to ensure the victory of 'Hindutva'.

Talking to newspersons here, Mr Naidu further warned that those opposing the official party candidates were being monitored and strict action would be taken against them.

''There will be no change in the official candidate list,'' he maintained appealing for the unity in the party rank and file.

There is a widespread discontentment among a section of BJP cadre over senior party leader Shiv Pratap Shukla failing to secure nomination from Gorakhpur's Sadar assembly segment.

Buoyed over the recent poll successes in Punjab and Uttarakhand, Mr Naidu expressed confidence that BJP would form the next government in UP with comfortable majority.

''The people are fed-up with the criminal and corrupt politicians in the state and are clamouring for a definite change in the leadership,'' he noted.

The BJP leader alleged that UP was posting lop-sided industrial growth year-on-year and new industries were shying from entering the state.

Meanwhile, Mr Naidu informed that post-poll, the party would not enter into any alliance, since BJP had bitter experiences of the same in the past.

''BSP, Congress and SP are all indulged in minority appeasement, which is detrimental to the country,'' he said adding his party would never tolerate reservation on basis of religion.
