Delhi Police nets 'super' thief Devender alias Bunty
New Delhi, Apr 14 (UNI) City police has netted 'super' thief Devender alias Bunty who struck in places all across the country and led a high-profile lifestyle.
A team from South District Police, nabbed Bunty as he landed in the capital from Chennai and reached South Extension in South Delhi with an intention to commit another crime, police said today.
A Rado watch, four laptops, branded clothes, gold and diamond jewelry and a passport on the name of one Hari Thapa was recovered from him.
He 'picked up' luxury cars, laptops, expensive wrist watches, gold and diamond jewelry, ATM cards and dollars from Kashmir to Kanyakumari and Kolkata to Gujarat and even Nepal and 'disposed' them off in some 'shady' markets in Bangalore, Nepal, Chennai, Kolkata and Ludhina.
Bunty, a 35-year-old resident of Delhi, led a luxurious lifestyle staying in five-star hotels and flight hopping from place to place.
He had been released from jail in October last after spending five years behind the bars. He had as many as 42 cases of theft against him at that time.
The class IX school dropout was believed to be involved in more than 550 case of theft.
